About the position

We are a small, boutique Estate Planning, Elder Law, Trust Administration, and Probate firm located in Carlsbad, California. Our firm is dedicated to providing exceptional legal services in estate planning and related areas. We are currently seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team, who possesses a strong background in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate matters. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of managing a variety of tasks in a small office environment. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for drafting Estate Planning documents, managing Trust Administrations, and preparing Petitions for Probate along with subsequent filings. Your role will also involve coordinating business development and educational activities, handling phone calls and emails, scanning documents, and preparing both formal and informal accountings. Given the nature of our practice, you will be expected to contribute to various aspects of our operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in good standing with the California Bar (for Attorneys)
  • Paralegal Certificate and applicable MCLE (for Paralegals)
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • 5 plus years of work experience in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate
  • Knowledge of San Diego Rules of Court and CA Civil Procedure
  • Ability to draft Estate Planning documents according to instructions
  • Ability to perform Trust Administration tasks, including Notifications by Trustee, Notices of Proposed Action, Accounting, Affidavits and Deeds
  • Ability to draft and file Court Petitions for Probate or Trust matters according to instructions
  • Proficiency in creating and editing legal documents and complex spreadsheets
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks
  • Thorough experience with WordPerfect and Excel
  • Familiarity with Judicial Council Forms
  • Punctuality in both work attendance and work product
