About the position

Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Litigation Associate to join our award-winning team. As an integral member of our litigation team, you will gain immediate hands-on experience handling a variety of litigation matters involving wrongful death, contract and business disputes, premises liability, personal injury claims, and more. From inception to resolution, you will have the opportunity to handle every aspect of your cases including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial. You will have the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, as you will collaborate closely with experienced partners and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a variety of litigation matters including wrongful death, contract and business disputes, premises liability, and personal injury claims.
  • Manage every aspect of cases from inception to resolution.
  • Perform legal research and draft pleadings and motions.
  • Manage discovery and interface directly with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Argue motions in court and attend mediations.
  • Collaborate with experienced partners and team members.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm environment.
  • Proficient in performing legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and managing discovery.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions, making court appearances, and arguing motions is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and advocacy skills.
  • Desire and/or ability to manage a caseload independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Trial experience is a plus.
  • Client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
