The firm seeks candidates from various legal backgrounds, including litigation, labor & employment, and family law, who are interested in transitioning to education law.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload involving education-related litigation, focusing on administrative hearings and civil rights issues.
• Represent K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities on labor, employment, and student matters.
• Conduct third-party neutral investigations into complaints filed by employees and students for school district clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on collective bargaining, employee discipline, and administrative law matters.
• Work closely with partners and develop skills in investigation, litigation, and client advising within education law.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of legal experience with litigation (plaintiff or defense), labor & employment, insurance defense, workers' compensation, or family law.
• Juris Doctorate and California Bar membership in good standing.
• Strong academic background from an accredited law school (preferred schools include UC Law San Francisco, UC Davis, McGeorge, or San Joaquin College of Law for candidates with ties to Fresno).
