About the position

Parker & McConkie is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join their growing litigation firm, specializing in personal injury law. The role primarily focuses on managing pre-litigation claims, guiding clients from initial consultation to settlement, while also having opportunities to engage in litigation when necessary. Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of pre-litigation personal injury claims, including car accidents, slip and fall incidents, product liability, and dog bites.
• Investigate claims, gather evidence, and work with medical professionals to assess clients' injuries and damages.
• Draft demand letters, negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters, and work toward resolving claims favorably without formal litigation.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and explain the claims process.
• Evaluate case values and make strategic decisions regarding settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely completion of tasks, including document preparation and client communications.
• Assist in the transition of cases to litigation if necessary, including preparation of lawsuits and trial support.
• Stay current with changes in personal injury law and local legal practices.

Requirements

• Some experience in handling personal injury cases (plaintiff or defense) is beneficial but not necessarily a requirement.
• Member of the Utah State Bar.
• Previous team management experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while maintaining excellent client service.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with litigation is a plus but not required.
