About the position

The Associate, Basketball Operations at Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) will play a crucial role in the fast-paced environment of the Monumental Basketball platform. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the day-to-day operations of various departments, including Player Engagement, Operations, Equipment, Strategy, Scouting, and Facilities. The Associate will have the opportunity to exercise strong analytical and critical thinking skills while supporting the operations, logistics, and administration for the Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, and Capital City Go-Go. In this role, you will be involved in coordinating operations at the MedStar Health Performance Center (MHPC) and collaborating with departmental operations leads. You will design and implement systems to track departmental processes, projects, meetings, and activities, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. Additionally, you will assist with various game day responsibilities, which include pre-game setup, in-game statistical charting, and post-game analysis reporting. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, creativity, and a positive demeanor, as you will work both independently and as part of a team on a variety of projects. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operations at MHPC and work with departmental operations leads.
  • Design and implement systems to track department processes, projects, meetings, and activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations team on the platform's team operations, logistics, and administration.
  • Build Excel tools and processes to enhance the strategy, budget, facilities, administration and equipment operations within Monumental Basketball.
  • Assist with various game day responsibilities, including pre-game setup, in-game statistical charting, and post-game analysis reporting.
  • Work in partnership with the rest of the Monumental Basketball team.
  • Assist in directing fellow Basketball Operations Associates on projects throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of team operations within a basketball context.
  • Good analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High integrity; dependable, and able to work with confidential information.
  • Strong people skills and enjoys collaborating with a team as part of something bigger than yourself.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
