About the position

The Associate Brand Marketing position at Taro Pharmaceutical USA Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for the brand marketing of Proactiv in the US and Canada, with potential leverage for international markets. This role encompasses the management of the creation, development, execution, monitoring, and analysis of all brand initiatives. The Associate will collaborate closely with consumer insights, analytics, sales, and product development teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the category landscape, identifying new opportunities to grow the Proactiv business. The position requires cross-functional collaboration across various departments and direct management of agency partners to ensure that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Additionally, the Associate will assist in testing and developing new brands and/or emerging markets. The responsibilities include driving the annual brand planning process for Proactiv, coordinating cross-functional activities, managing timelines, and ensuring timely completion of all deliverables. The Associate will gather, analyze, and provide recommendations for product, promotion, and creative strategies for defined product brands. Monthly brand reports will be delivered to the internal team, and data analysis will be conducted to develop hypotheses and share recommendations for improvement. The role also involves overseeing the integration of public relations, digital, and social media strategies that enhance brand visibility and loyalty. As a liaison for Canada, the Associate will build marketing plans and campaigns primarily focused on the US market, working closely with the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing and Go to Market (GTM) strategies. Ensuring consistent brand positioning, style, and messaging across all touchpoints is crucial, as is compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Associate will leverage consumer insights to monitor market trends and provide recommendations based on analytics and insights, while also keeping abreast of industry activities and competitive developments. Writing creative briefs and providing direction for marketing materials will be part of the role, as well as leading cross-functional alignment on marketing assets for international partners.

Responsibilities

  • Drive annual brand planning process for Proactiv, coordinating cross-functional activities and managing timelines.
  • Manage the effective execution of marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Gather, analyze, and provide product, promotion, and creative recommendations for defined product brands.
  • Collaborate closely across departments and deliver monthly brand reports to the internal team.
  • Analyze data to develop hypotheses and share recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee integration of PR, digital, and social media strategies that drive brand visibility and loyalty.
  • Act as the liaison between all relevant departments for Canada, including agency partners.
  • Build marketing plans and campaigns focused mostly on the US (some Canada) working closely with Sr Manager Brand Marketing & Go to Market (GTM).
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning, style, and message across all touchpoints, complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Help translate the brand's vision at all touchpoints partnering with DTC, CRM, Sales, Creative, etc. teams, including on packaging.
  • Leverage consumer insights to gain consumer knowledge and monitor market trends.
  • Remain abreast of industry activity, trends, and maintain knowledge of the category and competitive landscape.
  • Write creative briefs while providing direction for marketing/creative materials produced internally or externally.
  • Assist Sr Manager, Brand Marketing & GTM in testing and developing new products and/or emerging markets.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment on marketing assets for international partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, required.
  • 3+ years' experience in CPG marketing, Health & Beauty industry a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in brand strategy and brand development.
  • Experience with omnichannel marketing (experience with DTC brands a plus).
  • Formal presentation skills and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and foresight to identify opportunities and risks to the business.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in syndicated data analysis (e.g. Nielsen, IRI/Circana).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Drive for results and leadership skills with the ability to deliver positive results in a team environment.
  • Good self-initiative and the ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
