About the position

The Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Application and Digital Solutions leads the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and advises the Department of Transportation (DOT) CIO on strategies for application development and digital solutions. This role focuses on optimizing business processes, enhancing system stability, and implementing innovative technologies to achieve DOT's strategic goals. The ACIO serves as a principal advisor, guiding the modernization of systems and the introduction of new technologies across DOT's applications and national transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Office of Application and Digital Solutions and advise the DOT CIO on application development and digital solution strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on technology initiatives and develop recommendations for their implementation.
• Establish a vision for modernizing and stabilizing systems managed at DOT.
• Serve as a digital solutions adviser and steward for improving system stability.
• Analyze IT resources to align capabilities with technology demands and departmental interests.
• Continuously advise top leadership on major IT products and service delivery issues.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in application development and technology platform management.
• Expertise in application development processes, including cybersecurity considerations.
• Success in advocating for and introducing new technology platforms in large organizations.
• In-depth knowledge of federal laws and regulations affecting application development.
