About the position

The Associate Chief Information Officer for Research IT at Missouri University of Science and Technology is a leadership role focused on providing research information technology services. Responsibilities

• Lead the S&T IT Research Support Solutions team in technology service management.
• Advance and maintain research technology including high-performance computing and data repositories.
• Develop strategies for implementing emerging technologies and trends.
• Guide Research IT efforts in alignment with the university's strategic vision.
• Communicate research technology strategies and operational plans to stakeholders.
• Supervise staff, external vendors, and project teams.
• Determine staffing needs and devise staffing plans based on budgetary constraints.
• Establish partnerships with research centers and academic units.
• Implement solutions to streamline support processes.
• Regularly communicate with university leadership about plans and projects.
• Maintain a professional network and participate in conferences.
• Write proposals to secure funding for research initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of senior managerial experience.
• Ability to secure a secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
• Experience in building a research computing environment that supports Confidential Unclassified Information (CUI).
• Proven skills in project management and system implementation.
