The Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) by providing leadership and guidance in critical areas of Information Technology across Cook County Health (CCH). This position is responsible for overseeing operations, leading major initiatives, evaluating technology, and ensuring business continuity efforts. The ACIO will build strong relationships with management and senior leadership to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively, offering technical expertise in planning, digital transformation, and patient-focused technology solutions. In addition to managing daily IT operations, the ACIO will support advanced patient care modalities, including telemedicine and remote patient monitoring. The role involves assessing existing initiatives aimed at establishing an electronic medical record and leading the development of a new vision and strategy for clinical financial services. The ACIO will also be tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy for the technical infrastructure and application architecture for CCH, which includes setting standards and protocols for data exchange and interconnection of information systems. The ACIO will advise executive management on technology-related opportunities and risks, develop and maintain IT policies and procedures, and manage relationships with third-party software and hardware suppliers. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring that all IT initiatives have clear business goals and success metrics, as well as maintaining a viable business and disaster recovery plan. The ACIO will also assist with the IT annual and capital budget, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, and managing the performance of IT staff while participating in their hiring and development.
