About the position

The Associate Chief Medical Information Officer (ACMIO) at BayCare is responsible for supporting the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Informatics Medical Directors in delivering clinical informatics services across the BayCare Health System. This role advocates for the effective use of information technology in clinical settings, collaborates with leadership to design and implement clinical systems, and serves as a physician champion for informatics initiatives. The ACMIO leads efforts in optimizing clinical information tools and processes, ensuring that healthcare professionals and patients have the necessary information and support for effective care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CMIO and Informatics Medical Directors in clinical informatics services.
  • Advocate for patients, medical faculty, clinical staff, administration, and senior leadership in the use of information technology.
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of clinical systems for healthcare delivery.
  • Serve as the physician champion for clinical information and informatics efforts.
  • Oversee strategy development and annual goal setting for clinical informatics initiatives.
  • Direct and participate in physician activities related to clinical information tools and processes.
  • Educate physicians on the use of BayCare Clinical IT systems.
  • Lead long-term projects, committees, and organizational governance efforts.
  • Assess information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Participate in the procurement, customization, and management of clinical information systems.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare informatics leadership role.
  • Minimum 3 years of general leadership experience with evidence of leading complex change.
  • 3-5 years of successful collaboration with executives and physician colleagues required.
  • 3-5 years of expertise in project management and change management.
