About the position

The Associate Chief Medical Information Officer (ACMIO) at UW Health is a part-time leadership role focused on enhancing the utilization of health information technology, particularly the Health Link electronic health record. The ACMIO will provide clinical leadership, ensuring that technology decisions align with the needs of acute care providers and support the organization's mission. This position emphasizes strategic leadership to improve physician practice, operational compliance, and analytics foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership in evaluating and implementing health information technology.
  • Advance the diffusion of health information technology at UW Health.
  • Represent the acute care provider perspective in technology decisions.
  • Enhance physician practice and support operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to health information technology.
  • Establish a foundation for analytics within the organization.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Primary Specialty (Minimum)
  • 3 years of clinical practice (Minimum)
  • 3 years of medical/health informatics leadership experience (Minimum)
  • MD/DO (Minimum)
  • Board Certification in Clinical Informatics or Masters in Health Informatics (Preferred)
  • Epic Certification and maintenance pertinent to role (Preferred)
  • 5 years clinical practice at faculty level (Preferred)
  • Experience in leading implementation/optimization of health IT systems across ambulatory and inpatient enterprise at a tertiary/quaternary organization (Preferred)
