About the position

The position is for a board eligible or certified physician with advanced clinical experience, responsible for overseeing educational programs and ensuring quality improvement within the VA Medical Center. The incumbent will lead initiatives that enhance partnerships with academic affiliates, manage budget and fiscal responsibilities, and promote a culture of customer service and continuous learning. This role requires strong administrative and leadership skills to coordinate a broad continuum of programs and to foster an interdisciplinary approach to care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical interface with academic affiliates and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance partnerships with academic affiliates and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure services meet standards issued by accrediting and regulatory groups.
  • Encourage continuing education and compliance with performance standards for all personnel.
  • Manage financial activities including budget planning and management for Education and Learning Resources.
  • Develop and implement tracking methods to monitor fiscal activities.
  • Encourage risk-taking and entrepreneurial behavior to develop alternative revenue streams.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the goals of the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center.
  • Develop an interdisciplinary team focused on excellence in education, patient care, and customer service.
  • Maintain good labor-management relations and resolve personnel problems.

Requirements

  • Board eligible or certified physician with advanced clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of the VA system and its regulations relating to academic affiliates.
  • Progressive management experience with strong administrative and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in budget planning and management.
  • Familiarity with quality measurement tools and continuous improvement processes.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships throughout the Health Care system.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $250,000 to $400,000 annually.
