About the position

This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as the Associate Chief of Staff - Primary Care Physician at the Walla Walla VA Medical Center. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of comprehensive care, ensuring that high-quality and efficient healthcare services are provided on-site. You will collaborate with a dynamic and engaged local leadership team, working together to manage and enhance the healthcare experience for veterans. The ideal candidate will possess a history of successful leadership and management activities, demonstrating the ability to inspire excellence and build cohesive teams. You will be expected to promote innovation and create a culture of professional accountability among staff members. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be required to facilitate effective communication and collaboration across various departments. Additionally, you must have a thorough understanding of the standards set by the Veterans Health Administration and other accrediting bodies, as well as the ability to meet established performance measure goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A history of successful prior leadership or management activities.
  • Demonstrated informal leadership training, experience, and skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and operational facilitation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the standards of the Veterans Health Administration and other accrediting bodies.
  • Ability to meet VA established performance measure goals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
  • Experience in a federal healthcare setting.
