About the position

The Associate Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) at ReGeneration Schools plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational excellence of the charter schools. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the ACOO will lead and support the Directors of Operations in managing various aspects of school operations, including financial management, facilities, and student culture. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strategic vision and a commitment to educational excellence, aimed at allowing teachers and principals to focus on instruction and academic achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Directors of Operations (DOs) lead outstanding school operations, including daily systems, facilities, financial management, food & transportation, student & staff culture, and enrollment management.
  • Hold DOs accountable to performance metrics and support them in improving performance and meeting goals.
  • Build, implement, and monitor cross-regional operations initiatives.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, management, and evaluation of all operations staff, including DOs and school-based operations teams.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and implementing appropriate protocols for emergency preparedness.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services within budgetary constraints.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to operational staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience and a track record of success in school operations management.
  • Experience managing a team to strong outcomes.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, and a graduate degree in business or operations is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively managing, developing, and retaining team members.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work towards a common vision with various partners.
  • Ability to effectively and strategically prioritize between multiple high-leverage, high-risk issues, demonstrating outstanding judgment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change organization.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills, with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
