About the position

The Associate Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) at Jackson Memorial Hospital is responsible for providing administrative oversight and leadership for all aspects of ancillary operations, including clinical, financial, environmental management, daily operations, and patient experience. This role involves partnering with the hospital's executive leadership team to ensure performance expectations are met and participating in decision-making processes related to hospital operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a leadership framework for planning, directing, coordinating, and improving ancillary services responsive to stakeholder needs.
  • Develops operational and financial performance metrics for efficient resource utilization.
  • Partners with senior leadership for successful deployment and growth initiatives in ancillary operations.
  • Communicates issues identified by leadership and front-line staff related to initiatives and recommends improvements.
  • Supports and monitors Process Improvement projects to enhance business results.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of developments affecting divisional operations in legislation.
  • Manages professional practice standards for Jackson Health System.
  • Informs the COO on operational status and supports long-range strategic planning.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and undertakes special projects as requested by the CEO.
  • Attracts, develops, engages, and retains strong talent to achieve business results.
  • Adheres to compliance standards and supports the commitment to ethical business practices.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience required, with leadership experience necessary.
  • Hospital experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Master's degree is required.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Skill in monitoring and assessing performance for improvements.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
