About the position

Parsons is one of the world's largest transportation planning, engineering, and construction firms, with a diverse portfolio of transportation projects including rail and transit, road and highway, bridge and tunnel, and aviation infrastructure. We are currently seeking a Road/Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Richardson, Texas. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer to engage in a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within the civil engineering discipline. The successful candidate will be involved in designing horizontal and vertical geometry for highway and road projects, analyzing cross sections, calculating super-elevations, grading vertical alignments, and assessing horizontal impacts for roads and highways in Texas. Our team has worked on significant projects such as the IH 35E managed lanes reconstruction in the northern Dallas area, SH 183 managed lanes reconstruction in Dallas and Irving, and the VIA Metropolitan Transit bus rapid transit design in San Antonio. Other notable projects include the Honolulu new rail expansion program, the widening of I-270 in St. Louis, the Mexico City new airport design, and the California High-Speed Rail project. Engineers will have the opportunity to work on ongoing projects with the Texas Department of Transportation, which will expose them to a variety of tasks across the state. Some field review activities may be associated with the assigned tasks, requiring engineers to travel for these assignments. Upcoming work opportunities will include large-scale design-build proposals/projects located in Texas and other states, as well as civil engineering assignments related to various transit and aviation projects in North America.
