About The Position
The City of Milpitas is looking for an Associate Civil Engineer who can adapt and grow in a fast-paced working environment and possesses expertise in utility project and program management, contract administration, and customer service. You will be a liaison between the Public Works Utility Engineering Section and internal and external stakeholders. This position requires the technical knowledge of engineering and an innovative mindset to proactively develop solutions to maintain and improve utility systems. Success in this position entails working collaboratively with a team of engineers and operators to resolve complex engineering problems. You will be joining a team of talented professionals who work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to provide essential public services to our residents and businesses. The Utility Engineering Section is responsible for operating and maintaining the City's utilities (storm water, water, wastewater, and recycled water systems) as well as coordinating on a variety of private development projects including high tech, transit-oriented, and residential subdivision projects. The Department's crews, technicians, engineers, managers, and other staff are proud of their contributions, which makes Milpitas a great place to live, work, and visit.
