We are currently seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis in the Leesburg, VA area. In this role, you will be responsible for performing site development and design work for assigned projects. You will prepare site design plans for client review and submission to various local jurisdictions, which includes creating site layouts, zoning plans, site gradings, and stormwater management calculations. Additionally, you will be involved in plan preparation and reports for land development submissions. Collaboration is key, as you will work cross-functionally with various teams and disciplines, and additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site development and design work for assigned projects.
  • Prepare site design plans for client review and submission to various local jurisdictions.
  • Prepare site layouts, zoning plans, site gradings, stormwater management calculations, plan preparation, and reports for land development submission.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams & disciplines.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • 2+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with Land and/or Site Design projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • FE / EIT certification.
  • Experience working on greenfield / land development projects.
  • Experience working with Storm Sewer Design, Sanitary Sewer Design, Waterline Layout, and Grading.
  • Experience with stormwater management, especially utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, etc.); experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus!
  • Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdiction(s).
  • Proficiency in basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
