The Associate Civil/Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and evaluation of structural components for utility-scale solar projects. This position involves conducting structural design evaluations and calculations under the guidance of a lead engineer, which is essential for supporting proposal estimating and providing construction support efforts. The engineer will be responsible for reviewing various client-provided reports, including geotechnical, topographical, environmental/ecological, hydrological, and flooding studies, to ensure that all aspects of the project are considered during the design phase. In the proposal estimating phase, the Associate Engineer will conduct an approximate 10% design of the civil and structural aspects of a project, with a specific focus on pile design. This requires balancing civil and structural design requirements to ensure that the project is executed in a cost-effective manner. During the construction support phase, the engineer will work closely with project teams and the Engineer of Record to address any civil and structural questions or concerns that arise. This includes reviewing and providing comments on the structural design package at various project milestones (30%, 60%, and 90%). The role demands a strong educational background in civil or structural engineering, with a preference for candidates who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam. Experience with L-Pile design software, GIS, AutoCAD Civil3D, and knowledge of civil grading and SWPPP are also preferred. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to travel up to 10% to visit project sites as necessary.
