About the position

The Associate Client Advisor at Bessemer Trust is a pivotal role responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication and effective management of client accounts. This position serves as a liaison between Client Advisors, Senior Client Advisors, and various service areas within the organization, including Client Tax, Financial Planning, Investments, Legacy Planning, Trust Administration, Philanthropic Advisory Services, and Custody. The Associate Client Advisor will engage with clients, ensuring their needs are met and that they receive coordinated services tailored to their individual circumstances, whether they are individuals, families, trusts, or foundations. In this role, the Associate Client Advisor will handle routine communications with clients and their advisors, documenting all interactions in Salesforce. They will prepare materials for client meetings using tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and will be responsible for constructing customized spreadsheets and completing financial paperwork from other institutions. The position also involves attending client meetings, contributing to discussions, and addressing any questions regarding investment strategies or market outlooks. Investment management is another key responsibility, where the Associate Client Advisor will propose and implement investment programs as directed by Client Advisors. They will prepare investment guidelines aligned with clients' goals and risk tolerance, monitor asset allocations, and initiate orders for account rebalancing. Additionally, the Associate Client Advisor will work closely with the Client Administration Team to open accounts, coordinate asset transfers, and ensure compliance with fiduciary laws and policies. Continuing professional education is essential in this role, as the Associate Client Advisor is expected to stay informed about economic and market trends through various means, including attending corporate meetings and conducting independent research. Compliance with regulatory requirements is also a critical aspect of the position, including assisting in the preparation of Annual Relationship Reviews and Trust Administrative Reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Handle routine communication with clients and their advisors via telephone, email, and fax.
  • Document written and verbal communication with clients and their advisors in Salesforce.
  • Prepare charts and materials for client meeting presentations using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internal applications as needed.
  • Construct customized spreadsheets for clients.
  • Complete financial paperwork from other institutions for clients.
  • File correspondence and other documents in internal databases.
  • Create documentation of client correspondence for tracking purposes.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings and presentations.
  • Interface with clients when questions arise about investment strategy or capital markets outlook.
  • Propose and implement investment programs as directed by Client Advisors and Senior Client Advisors using Bessemer applications.
  • Prepare investment guidelines for client accounts in line with clients' goals and risk tolerance.
  • Collaborate with Client Advisors and Senior Client Advisors to proactively monitor asset allocation.
  • Build implication models taking into account spending, taxation, and potential market behavior among other factors.
  • Proactively monitor and take action to correct fixed income maturities and client overdrafts based on knowledge and history of the client account.
  • Initiate orders for rebalancing of accounts.
  • Work with Client Administration Team to open accounts and coordinate with outside agents the transfer of assets to Bessemer.
  • Assist in preparation of account opening documentation and account profiles, obtain required approvals, and gather legal documents and tax cost information.
  • Prepare Officers Committee account reports.
  • Perform cash management functions using Workflow and Atlas in accordance with established account procedures and applicable fiduciary laws and policies.
  • Process client remittances in conjunction with Client Tax Department.
  • Monitor and assist in covering overdrafts.
  • Supervise and pay client bill payments.
  • Prepare client presentation packages and reporting on client accounts.
  • Coordinate trust reviews with Fiduciary Officers.
  • Attend continuing education courses on trust administration.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to: Assist in the preparation of Annual Relationship Reviews and Trust Administrative Reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven interest in financial markets preferred.
  • One or more years of related business experience preferred (specifically within Wealth Management a plus).
  • Working knowledge of trust administration and fiduciary laws, policies, Regulation-9 and KYC preferred.
  • Analytical & independent problem solving skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork qualities.
  • Goal-oriented, detail-oriented, and a motivated self-starter.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of trust administration and fiduciary services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Securities licenses will not generally be obtained or maintained unless deemed by Bessemer Trust to be required in order for you to perform the responsibilities of this position.
