About the position

The Associate Clinical Therapist will work under the supervision of a licensed professional to assess and treat individuals facing mental health issues or substance abuse problems. This role involves providing individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and social rehabilitation for patients across all age groups in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychosocial assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and/or life situation.
  • Assist in creating a comprehensive psychosocial treatment plan utilizing appropriate clinical social work treatments and interventions.
  • Screen, identify, diagnose, and assist in treatment of mental health and/or substance abuse problems in patients and family members.
  • Assist with screening, identification, diagnosis, management and treatment of victims of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, rape, etc.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that affect patient care.
  • Provide education to patients and families around issues related to adaptation to the patient's diagnosis, illness, treatment and/or life situation.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary health care teams.
  • Maintain working knowledge of and liaison with community agencies and resources.
  • Document assessment, plan, interactions, and interventions according to departmental, hospital and/or health system guidelines and standards.
  • Attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Temporary Social Work permit OR LGSW OR PLPC
