About the position

The Associate Cloud Consultant role in AWS Professional Services focuses on helping customers architect, develop, and re-engineer applications to leverage the AWS Cloud effectively. This position is ideal for developers with hands-on experience in building cloud-native applications and offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects that are critical to business success. The role involves significant travel and collaboration with enterprise customers, providing a platform for accelerated career development for university graduates and early career professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Help customers architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services.
  • Architect and develop customer applications to be cloud optimized.
  • Work as a technical specialist alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams.
  • Provide deep software development knowledge with respect to cloud architecture, design patterns, and programming.
  • Advise and implement AWS best practices.
  • Work as both an infrastructure and application development specialist.
  • Implement DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with a conferral date within May 2023 to May 2025.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience programming in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, Node.js, or similar object-oriented language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
  • 1+ years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript (Node.js, Angular, JQuery, etc.), Python, Amplify, React, Typescript, Bash, Powershell, Lambda, C/C++, C#.
  • Experience with source control repositories (e.g. GitHub/GitLab, SVN, Mercurial, and Perforce).
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, and Team City.
  • Exposure to APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
  • Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Saltstack, or Ansible in production environments.
  • Experience with networking services, such as VPNs, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools, such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, and Splunk.
  • Experience with software development automated testing practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
