About the position

The Associate in Communication Services is responsible for providing exemplary customer service through face-to-face and telephone interactions with patients, family members, and staff. This role serves as the first point of contact for individuals entering or calling the health care system, ensuring a welcoming environment while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. The position requires effective communication, monitoring of various systems, and assistance with visitor check-in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Promote an environment of exemplary customer service through face-to-face or telephone interactions.
  • Deliver a welcoming first impression to patients, family members, and staff.
  • Maintain assigned post in hospital lobbies or switchboard offices.
  • Greet visitors and patients cordially, ascertain their needs, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the health system and hospital emergency response line.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms and emergency response protocols as required.
  • Document calls accurately and follow up to ensure necessary actions are taken.
  • Perform visitor check-in processes and issue identification badges as per policy.
  • Monitor the overall appearance of the hospital entrance and contact relevant services for assistance.

Requirements

  • One year of related clerical or customer service experience, or education may be used in lieu of experience.
