WSP is currently initiating a search for an Associate Consultant, Civil Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. This role involves engaging in complex projects with our Transportation Team and being part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. The Associate Consultant will provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, improvement, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in both the public and private sectors. Responsibilities may include assisting with research, data gathering, concept development, planning, and design of roads and site improvements. The role requires generating accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding materials, installations, and construction specifications, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. The impact of this position includes collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources such as physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, and geotechnical data for project development, design, and construction. The Associate Consultant will perform professional civil engineering work and assist with conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, buildings, infrastructure, and transportation channels to ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits. This role may involve working individually or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work, assist with laying out installations, establishing reference points/elevations/grades to guide construction, calculating costs and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos. Additionally, the Associate Consultant will verify site characteristics, provide technical assistance on various engineering, design, and construction issues, research historical property land uses, prepare data visualizations, maintain quality control standards, assist with project development and scoping, contribute to technical reports and presentations, conduct engineering studies and surveys, assist in data analysis and interpretation, and prepare site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). The role requires collaboration with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on federally, state, regionally, and locally funded improvement and development projects. The Associate Consultant is expected to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
