About the position

The Associate Copywriter at EAB plays a crucial role in merging the unique voice of university partners with effective marketing strategies to create compelling direct mail and digital campaigns. This position collaborates with senior copywriters, art directors, web designers, and client teams to develop engaging content that meets client goals while enhancing marketing tactics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing, a strong work ethic, and a desire to support clients in achieving their fundraising objectives.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise original direct marketing copy for assigned clients.
• Learn from team and client feedback to write copy that is consistently strong, on strategy, and grammatically correct.
• Contribute to copy and annual fund marketing discussions in client meetings.
• Participate in team, client, and process meetings, specifically all creative discovery/re-discovery sessions.
• Work collaboratively with Art Directors, Web Designers, and account teams.
• Adapt quickly to changing systems and processes.
• Support fellow copywriters as necessary to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 2 years of writing experience in a professional setting, preferably in higher education or non-profit fundraising.
• Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into effective copy.
• Demonstrated ability to impact response rates based on copywriting skills.
• A passion for writing and willingness to collaborate with other creative professionals.
• Ability to manage time and meet tight deadlines, including working late hours or weekends as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to conform writing to prescribed styles.
• Non-profit and/or higher education writing experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
