About the position

The Associate Counsel position at Comcast Corporation is focused on providing transactional legal support within the Product, Technology, and Operations Team. The role involves negotiating technology and commercial agreements, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). The successful candidate will develop expertise in AI-related legal risks and collaborate with various business units to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks associated with technology use.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including software license and services, SaaS, technology development, and evaluation agreements.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise to advise on AI-related contract provisions and products and services utilizing AI.
  • Identify and offer solutions to mitigate legal risk, including with respect to AI vendors, and provide actionable legal advice.
  • Collaborate within the Legal Department and across Comcast's various business units as required to evaluate AI use cases and associated risk.
  • Perform legal research.
  • Consult with and supervise outside counsel to develop legal strategies and resolve issues in routine matters.
  • Carry out and perform duties consistent with strategic plans and directives, as determined by senior level management and attorneys.
  • Consistently exercise independent and sound judgment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years combined of transactional experience in a top law firm and/or corporate legal department.
  • JD with strong academic credentials.
  • Member of a state bar in good standing and eligible for Pennsylvania Bar or Pennsylvania Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Strong interest in technology, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property.
  • Collegial and collaborative with the skills to work effectively with colleagues, management, and operations personnel.
  • Self-motivated and independent, but able to discern when matters should be escalated and when further guidance is needed.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.
  • Ability to deliver complex information in an understandable way and with a focus on business outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
