About the position

As an Associate Creative Director, Copy at VML, you will play a pivotal role in leading creative teams to produce innovative work that aligns with client objectives and creative briefs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include guiding your team to develop original concepts that address client challenges effectively. You will collaborate closely with strategy teams to ensure that creative briefs are approved and that the creative output meets the strategic goals of the clients. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment where creativity thrives, and you will be expected to contribute award-worthy concepts that can elevate the work produced by your team. In this role, you will also be responsible for managing production efforts, ensuring that projects are completed within budget, and justifying any necessary budget increases. Building strong relationships with clients will be essential, as you will need to identify opportunities for upselling and enhancing project scopes. Your ability to present confidently to clients and articulate how creative work meets their strategic and business objectives will be key to your success. You will manage multiple projects across various brands, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the quality of work remains high. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the creative field, with a strong desire to produce exceptional work in art direction, advertising, and visual communications. You should be a team player with a positive attitude, ready to jump in and assist wherever needed. Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of creative teams to produce work that aligns with creative briefs and client challenges.
  • Contribute creative concepts and collaborate with Strategy teams to approve creative briefs as needed.
  • Work closely with copy partners and guide teams to maintain focus on the big idea.
  • Develop award-worthy concepts and recommendations for executing ideas.
  • Oversee production efforts, ensuring projects are completed within budget or justifying budget increases when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for project enhancement and upselling.
  • Present confidently to clients, clearly communicating how creative work meets strategic and business objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects for various brands, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • High degree of creativity with the ability to generate innovative, award-worthy ideas that solve clients' business challenges.
  • Eager to collaborate with copy partners and cross-functional teams including Account, Strategy, Social, UX, and Medical teams.
  • Confident and persuasive presentation skills, able to respond well to challenging client situations.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A portfolio demonstrating creative and conceptual thinking, with award-winning work preferably in the healthcare/pharma industry.
  • 5-7 years of equivalent experience, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
