About the position

The Associate Creative Director (Copy) at Valtech is a pivotal role that oversees the agency's copywriting discipline while serving as the creative lead on key accounts. This position requires an individual who can demonstrate thoughtful and original conceptual thinking, backed by proven copywriting experience across various industries and deliverables. The ACD must possess in-depth knowledge of copy, design, and art direction, ensuring that the creative output meets the high standards expected by the agency and its clients. As an agency leader, the ACD will collaborate with leads from other departments, overseeing the quality of creative work and providing direct feedback to team members. This role also involves managing schedules, creating timelines, and resourcing against the work to ensure timely delivery of projects. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a copywriter and creative leader, preferably within an agency setting. The ACD will lead creative teams to develop inspiring, strategically driven concepts and campaigns, manage and mentor other copywriters and creative team members, and participate in client presentations and new business opportunities. Additionally, the ACD will attend and oversee production shoots when necessary, advocate for the creative department, and build relationships with clients to identify new growth opportunities. The role also includes supporting recruitment efforts by reviewing portfolios and interviewing candidates, as well as setting the tone within the department regarding work ethic, attitude, and behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative teams to develop inspiring, strategically driven concepts and campaigns

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience as a copywriter in an agency setting
  • Portfolio showcasing creative work across advertising deliverables and media
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing tactics, platforms, and trends
  • Proficient in Figma, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Suite
