About the position

In this role, you will lead a team of creative writers and designers, developing a diverse range of creative solutions that will set Vanguard apart and drive action. We're looking for an experienced leader, someone that can inspire others and take our creative to a new level. The ideal candidate will be someone who loves to write but also has a natural eye for data visualization and can guide our teams to develop conceptual marketing that will drive results up and down the marketing funnel. You will foster a highly collaborative and creative environment, hiring, evaluating, and supervising your crew. Providing guidance and training as necessary to develop your team is essential, as is setting performance standards, reviewing performance, and making informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures. You will help establish quality standards and work closely with the Creative Director to inspire, recognize, and nurture bold and effective creative ideas. Your role will also involve bringing a mix of marketing expertise and business understanding to the position, promoting our company and that of our valued clients. You will manage a team of designers and writers to create user-centric, on-brand creative solutions that meet business and user goals. Partnering with teams across the enterprise in defining and communicating the creative direction is crucial. You will expertly present creative concepts to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring the success of the strategy and championing the best possible work. Additionally, you will develop and leverage a professional network across the enterprise to foster collaboration within the department, support department-wide initiatives, and improve the department's ability to resolve issues. Participation in special projects and performing other duties as assigned will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum five years related work experience in an agency or in-house agency environment.
  • Oversight of both writers and designers is required.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on leadership and people management experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and creative experience in financial services or other technical field is necessary; graduate degree preferred.
