About the position

The Associate Creative Director, Production Design at April Six is responsible for overseeing production design efforts, managing a team of freelancers, and ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with client expectations. This role is crucial for maintaining creative standards and driving excellence in production, collaborating closely with creative directors and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct all production design efforts to ensure consistency, brand alignment, and high creative quality across all deliverables.
  • Partner with Creative Resource Manager to lead a network of freelance designers, illustrators, and other production staff.
  • Implement a robust quality assurance process to ensure all client deliverables meet high creative standards.
  • Work closely with the creative directors and cross-functional teams to develop innovative concepts and execution plans that align with client objectives and brand strategies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for production-related queries, offering expert advice and managing expectations around timelines, deliverables, and creative quality.
  • Stay informed of the latest trends and technologies in production design and marketing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in production design, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing freelance creatives and/or in-house teams.
  • Excellent design thinking and execution, ranging from conceptual and digital application to editorial and production execution.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of production design work across different media (print, digital, social).
  • Excellent knowledge of production workflows and processes.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
