As an Associate Creative Director specializing in Visual & Motion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and art direction of TurboTax's brand. You will be responsible for crafting visual systems, innovative digital experiences, motion languages, and brand campaigns that resonate with our diverse audience. Your expertise will help push the boundaries of brand storytelling and elevate the creative direction of TurboTax's brand identity. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including copywriters, product designers, strategists, and channel leads, to develop big ideas and drive the visual identity across various brand touchpoints. This role requires a multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of design principles, and the ability to inspire and lead a creative team. Responsibilities

  • Push creative boundaries and stay plugged into culture to help TurboTax breakthrough creatively.
  • Inspire your team through design and establish the bar for design thinking and execution.
  • Cultivate, guide, and lead your team with a strong point of view and creative vision.
  • Concept, iterate, prototype, and test to deliver strategic, elegant, and simple solutions.
  • Build and manage client partnerships from project kickoff to timely delivery.
  • Visually and verbally communicate concepts and strategy behind your work.
  • Lead a project and internal or external team autonomously with limited process and hierarchy in place.
  • Balance multiple project assignments or business challenges with a steady disposition.

Requirements

  • A world-class portfolio demonstrating high proficiency in delivering strategically grounded thinking across art direction, design, and animation.
  • Proven experience collaborating with internal teams and partnering with clients.
  • An audience-first approach to your craft, using direct customer interviews to inspire creativity.
  • 8+ years relevant experience in visual design with a focus on crafting systems and marketing experiences for brands, campaigns, and events.
  • Deep knowledge and skills in visual design, UI and UX design, and typography.
  • Fluency in current industry design and prototyping tools.
  • A curious student of emerging technologies that applies and drives innovation in your work.
  • Strong strategic thinking with awareness of the project lifecycle, necessary timelines, business challenges, and team communication.
  • Strong presentation skills to build alignment with senior leadership.
  • An understanding of how to art direct and design within visual and motion identity systems.
