About the position

The Associate Creative Director at Dark Burn Creative will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction of gameplay trailers and promotional content for video games. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, creative vision, and collaboration with clients and internal teams to produce compelling narratives and high-quality assets. The role demands hands-on experience in production and creative directing, with a focus on delivering projects from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the creative direction and strategy for all client projects.
• Lead a trailer/creative asset to a presentable state for creative director approval.
• Collaborate directly with capture teams to create and iterate on shots.
• Craft scenes and scripts to inform game capture and editorial process.
• Network with internal and external leaders in their field of expertise.
• Generate or help drive another Creative Director's vision for an asset, leading it through all phases from scripting/concepting to successful completion.

Requirements

• 3+ years in Production or Creative Directing, with a minimum of 3 years experience at a Post-Production House, ad agency, or equivalent.
• Creative vendor or studio experience preferred.
• Gameplay experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in crafting creative content, including scripting, editorial, and capture.
• Familiarity with VR platforms and experiences is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Premiere preferred.
• History working in the video game industry is ideal.
• Knowledge of video games and a genuine passion for playing them.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Comfortable in a constantly evolving industry.
• Openness to constructive criticism and willingness to engage in several rounds of feedback.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a huge plus, but not required.
