About the position

The Associate Creative Director will lead the graphic design and creative team at RRD, responsible for the conceptualization, design, and execution of creative projects. This hybrid role requires strategic thought leadership and the ability to manage over 3000 creative projects annually, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and marketing objectives. The position involves direct management of a team of 4+ creative professionals and requires a strong background in communications design, typography, and production skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the graphic design and creative team in conceptualizing and executing creative projects.
  • Manage over 3000 creative projects annually, ensuring quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and drive relationships with key clientele.
  • Develop conceptual designs that align with marketing and retail objectives.
  • Oversee all stages of print production and online deployment of projects.
  • Mentor and manage a team of 4+ designers, production artists, and copywriters.
  • Conduct regular assessments of team strengths and opportunities for development.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and senior management regarding project updates and challenges.
  • Promote collaboration and inclusion within the team to create a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing imaginative and compelling work.
  • Experience in retail, agency, or in-house corporate retail design preferred.
  • Proficient in Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of retail omni-channel marketing and the customer journey.
  • Familiarity with project management software platforms.
  • Experience presenting concepts to internal and external clients.
  • Vendor sourcing experience.
  • Understanding of customer experience (CX) and environmental design.
