About the position

The Associate Creative Director at Helen of Troy will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction for the Beauty department. This position involves conceptualizing and executing innovative design strategies that resonate with target audiences across various platforms. The role requires collaboration with marketing and production teams to ensure that creative projects align with brand objectives and are completed within budget and timelines. The Associate Creative Director will also mentor junior designers and lead by example, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, plans, and crafts creative concepts and approaches that align with a target audience.
  • Participates in marketing and production meetings to determine needs and develop design strategies from concept to completion.
  • Assists and develops creative projects, working with specifications, budget constraints, and scheduling requirements.
  • Develops creative concepts that appeal to a target audience using trend reports, color theories, and artistic skills.
  • Coordinates with necessary resources to optimally complete projects based on sales and marketing directives.
  • Supervises artistic approaches developed by staff members to meet overall marketing objectives.
  • Identifies design trends, technologies, and applications relevant to the projects.
  • Provides technical advice and mentorship to associates and marketing representatives on design issues.
  • Assists in photoshoots by providing creative feedback to designers.
  • Works closely with Project Managers to ensure projects adhere to schedules and communicates changes in scope.
  • Mentors direct report(s) and promotes a culture of creativity and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 7+ years' experience in Graphic Design, Package Design, and Ecommerce channels, specifically in the Beauty industry.
  • Proven experience managing and leading a large team of graphic designers.
  • Strong experience in developing storyboards and assisting in video shoots.
  • Extensive knowledge of graphic software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging and print production processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management, teamwork, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in digital marketing channels for eCommerce.
  • Knowledge of consumer products and packaging design.
  • Fine art knowledge and skills in drawing and sketching.
