About the position

The Associate Creative Director will play a pivotal role in the Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) at a leading healthcare organization. This position is designed for a creative professional who is passionate about implementing and enhancing the brand across the healthcare system. The Associate Creative Director will be responsible for developing innovative strategies to tell the organization's story and elevate the visual expression of the brand. This role is not just about managing projects; it is about shaping the creative vision and ensuring that the brand resonates with patients and stakeholders alike. In this role, the Associate Creative Director will work closely with the Director of Creative, overseeing a variety of design projects to meet the creative needs of the organization. The position requires a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The Associate Creative Director will also be responsible for mentoring and developing creative talent within the team, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a brand champion, supporting the Creative Director in setting visual standards and executing design strategies that align with the brand's messaging goals. This includes ensuring coherence of design across various entities and programs within the healthcare system. The Associate Creative Director will also be expected to develop user experiences for various channels, including digital platforms, print, and video, while managing the production of creative projects from inception to completion. Additionally, the Associate Creative Director will play a key role in leading innovation within the design function, adapting strategies based on market research and client feedback. This position requires a collaborative approach, as the Associate Creative Director will work with vendors and agency partners to deliver exceptional creative solutions that meet the organization's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day creative initiatives and mentor creative talent.
  • Support the Creative Director in setting visual standards and overall creative strategies for the brand.
  • Execute design strategies that support brand positioning and messaging goals.
  • Ensure coherence of design and brand standards across various entities and programs.
  • Develop designs and user experiences for all channels including website, print, emails, and video.
  • Support and coordinate the development of designs by other marketing personnel.
  • Manage the effective production of a wide range of creative projects within tight deadlines.
  • Help manage vendor relationships to meet organizational needs.
  • Lead innovation in the design function consistent with the organization's dedication to patient care and medical discovery.
  • Adapt design strategies based on market research and client feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced design degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years agency or marketing experience required.
  • Strong understanding of designing and managing production for a range of media.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with a wide variety of vendors and agency partners.
  • Impressive portfolio of communications projects displaying a keen aesthetic eye.
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles supporting brand management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in healthcare is preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to develop compelling creative across all media.
  • Expert technical design skills, including experience with animations and motion graphics.
