About the position

The Associate Creative Director at Engine Shop is a leadership role focused on driving innovative marketing strategies through storytelling and experiential design. This position requires collaboration across various teams to develop and execute creative campaigns that resonate with audiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to inspire and guide teams in delivering high-quality work that meets client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and transform observation into insight that inspires strategic direction.
  • Write innovative, audience-centric, problem-solving strategic narratives to inspire and ground ideation.
  • Lead the ideation process through brainstorming independently and with the team.
  • Outline the consumer journey and emotional journey with experiential, digital, social, and content amplification tactics.
  • Develop decks linking objectives to strategy and creative across omnichannel tactics.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design resources to inform art direction and visual components.
  • Defend and rationalize creative ideas against client briefs and strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, freelancers, and clients to execute deliverables.
  • Pitch agency credentials and client work confidently in meetings.
  • Participate in business growth through strategic and innovative work development.
  • Support agency marketing efforts and content development in partnership with the Head of Marketing.
  • Ensure scoping, hours allocation, and resource allocation lead to a profitable creative service offering.
  • Lead junior creative strategists in their growth and goals.
  • Educate and inspire agency teams on creative processes, innovations, and trends.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in agency, advertising, or brand-side creative roles.
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to integrate industry trends and cultural insights into the creative process.
  • Proven track record in physical and digital experience design and production.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, highly creative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with new-business-development projects like RFIs.
  • Familiarity with omni-channel marketing strategies.
