About the position

As an Associate Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the financial decision-making process of our organization. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about numbers and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for conducting thorough credit analyses on potential and existing customers, evaluating their financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess their creditworthiness. Your insights will be vital in identifying and analyzing potential risks associated with credit decisions, thereby supporting sound lending practices. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Sales, and Accounts Payable, to address customer concerns and find effective solutions. You will initiate contact with customers who have outstanding balances, discussing and resolving payment issues in a professional and empathetic manner. Establishing repayment plans based on customers' financial situations while adhering to company policies and guidelines will be a key responsibility. Documentation is essential in this role; you will need to document all communications with customers, update account information, and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities. Additionally, you will provide guidance and assistance to customers regarding payment options and account resolutions, answering any inquiries they may have about their accounts. Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies during the collections process is paramount. Staying updated on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and credit analysis best practices will help you continuously improve your skills and contribute to the team's success.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Educational background in Accounting/Finance or previous work experience in related credit fields.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of collection laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
