About the position

The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst plays a crucial role in the Security Operations Center (SOC) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This position is responsible for maintaining daily operational duties, troubleshooting security issues, and assisting end users with access problems, particularly related to multi-factor authentication. The role requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring the integrity of medical center systems and responding to alerts and incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

• User level access control and troubleshooting.
• User level MFA troubleshooting.
• Firewall policy evaluation.
• Troubleshooting complex network security issues.
• Alert triaging and data gathering for computer investigations.
• Phish response.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Fundamental awareness of customer service principles.
• Basic knowledge of multi-factor authentication (MFA) troubleshooting.
• Light experience with firewall policy evaluation and modification.
• Basic understanding of alert triage and phish response.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook for phish response.
