About the position

The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst is an entry-level role focused on identifying and preventing cyber threats within Casey's organization. This position involves working closely with Cybersecurity Operations leadership and various internal security stakeholders to handle security events, analyze security alerts, and recommend security tools and countermeasures. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring security events and responding to incidents, contributing to the overall cybersecurity posture of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team of cybersecurity professionals supporting a 17-state enterprise.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and triaging of alerts and suspected threat activities using computer and media forensics, malicious code analysis, and protocol analysis.
  • Convert threat intelligence into monitoring use cases in collaboration with cyber threat intelligence analysts.
  • Conduct daily operational monitoring and analysis of security events from multiple sources, including SIEM tools and network devices.
  • Communicate and escalate issues and incidents according to established processes and guidelines.
  • Enhance SIEM processes and monitoring capabilities.
  • Assist with incident response efforts, including creating incident response reports and documentation.
  • Investigate suspected or actual security incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience working in an IT environment (infrastructure or development roles).
  • Basic understanding of networking principles, including IP addressing, subnets, and common network protocols.
  • Proficiency in operating systems, including knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or macOS environments.
  • Experience with IT support, including technical support and hardware/software installations.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of incident response methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience in customer service, including incident handling and resolution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in programming and/or scripting languages (C, .NET, Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Preferred technical certifications: MSCE, Network+, A+, Security+, or other relevant certification in vulnerability analysis, ethical hacking techniques, or penetration testing.
