About the position

As an Associate Data Engineer in Analytics Engineering at CVS Health, you will play a crucial role in transforming health care through data-driven insights. Your primary responsibilities will include writing ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, designing database systems, and developing tools for both real-time and offline analytic processing. You will be involved in the technical efforts to design, build, and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on large-scale data processing and advanced analytics. This position requires participation in all aspects of the software development life cycle for GCP solutions, including planning, requirements gathering, development, testing, and quality assurance. You will utilize your programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL to build knowledge in cloud architecture and optimize queries for data pipelines. Collaboration with data science teams will be essential as you work to transform data and integrate algorithms into automated processes. You will also be responsible for integrating data from various sources while ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards. Troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of data processes. Responsibilities

  • Write ETL processes and design database systems for analytic processing.
  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy GCP applications.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for GCP solutions.
  • Use programming skills in Python, Java, or other major languages to optimize queries and build data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data science teams to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
  • Integrate data from various sources while ensuring data quality and accessibility standards.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and August 2025.
  • Knowledge in programming languages: SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge in Big Data and Cloud architecture.
  • Experience designing and optimizing queries.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with PySpark.
  • Knowledge of Java/Scala.
  • Ability to analyze and organize raw data.
