About The Position

The Associate Data Engineer position is part of the Cloud & Software team within Lenovo's Advanced Innovation Center. This role focuses on developing scalable and robust data pipelines in a cloud-based SaaS environment, collaborating with various teams including Engineering, Security, DevOps, QA, and Architecture. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, possess foundational software engineering knowledge, and be eager to learn new technologies.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Effective communication, presentation, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic experience with public Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, data structures, software engineering, distributed systems, and database systems.
• Experience with open-source compute engines (Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Trino/Presto, or equivalent).
• Experience with Git.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship experience in software development companies in the Data Engineering field.
• 6+ months of Data Engineering experience.
• Experience or familiarity with working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in container technology like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with open-source table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta, Hudi or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Develop and test data pipelines to ingest, extract, transform, store, serve, and build data sets for AI applications, Data Scientists, and ML Engineers.
• Utilize knowledge of algorithms, pipelines, AI & ML, and data processing to create new data solutions.
• Review pull requests from peers to ensure high standards and consistency in implementation.
