About the position

The Associate Data Manager will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the Private Markets content at FactSet. This position involves translating business strategies and client needs into actionable product roadmaps, working closely with AI/ML engineering teams to deliver impactful data solutions for private equity and venture capital clients. The role requires a blend of product management skills, financial acumen, and a collaborative approach to drive the development of data products that support investment analysis in private companies.

Responsibilities

  • Translate stakeholder needs into a backlog of work refined into user stories.
  • Provide thought leadership on content usage and future needs for clients.
  • Prioritize Jira stories based on business value and dependencies.
  • Make visible all work required to deliver major features from the backlog.
  • Define and report metrics for transparency against the product roadmap.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with contingency plans.
  • Synchronize with product owners and team leads to remove obstacles.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure understanding of the vision and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, math, or computer-related field.
  • 3+ years of product management experience on a data team or similar role.
  • Team player attitude with a strong desire to learn about Private Markets Content.
  • Keen interest in applying AI/ML to real-world data.
  • Solid understanding of financial valuation and market valuations.
  • Ability to use financial models and vendor data to assess private companies.
  • General knowledge of data environments including warehouses and ETLs.
  • Analytical skills with hands-on data analysis experience (Excel, PowerQuery, PowerBI, SQL).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Agile software development with software and data science engineers.
  • Financial analysis and modeling skills, including parsing financial statements.
  • Experience with structured transactions and due diligence.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and dynamic environments.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and remove ambiguity for the team.
