About the position

Ankura's Cybersecurity Practice is a well-regarded and rapidly growing division that offers a comprehensive suite of information security and privacy solutions tailored to clients across various industries and sizes. The practice focuses on proactive preparedness, incident response, cyber resilience, and managed advisory services, ensuring that clients are equipped to handle any cyber threats they may face. The Cyber team is composed of experts from the intelligence community, including former FBI and CIA personnel, as well as professionals from private security firms and pioneering technology companies. This diverse expertise allows Ankura to assess cyber risks effectively, test and strengthen clients' infrastructures, and respond decisively to threats as they arise. The team regularly advises boards of directors, C-suite executives, general counsel, outside counsel, IT leaders, and other stakeholders at all stages of a cyber incident. In this role as an Associate within the Cybersecurity Technology & Cyber Risk Advisory team, you will play a crucial part in supporting clients by identifying vulnerabilities in their external and internal infrastructures. You will recommend remediation strategies to proactively counteract potential threats. This position is remote and located in the United States, allowing for flexibility while engaging in critical cybersecurity work.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day activities of engagements including interaction with other team members, subject matter experts, and client contacts.
  • Support all facets of client engagements, including work stream supervision, client interaction, and billing.
  • Generate consistent and thorough documentation to support processes executed throughout the project lifecycle, including writing up interview notes, drafting emails, creating memoranda or reports, and developing project status summaries and/or reports and metrics.
  • Manage time and tasks to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Provide input into client communications, both written and oral, throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Develop, review, and edit information security policies and procedures and provide guidance to clients regarding best practices.
  • Supervise appropriate personnel including less experienced consultants, client personnel, clerical support, and others as appropriate.
  • Perform and support risk, cyber, privacy and technical network assessments, including best practice audits.
  • Maintain a professional image within the company and project the same to those outside of the company.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and other cyber technical assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science/Cyber Security/MSIS or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working in the Cybersecurity, Privacy and Compliance space.
  • Knowledge of various cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Top 18.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work.
  • Ability to deliver solution strategies and implementations to clients.
  • Strong risk management, project management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, to include detailed note taking abilities.
  • Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks around intense deadlines for clients who work in a time-sensitive industry.
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior management, C-suite, and lawyers/partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of how to leverage existing security applications and appliances to address Client specific requirements.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with NIST or ISO frameworks and/or risk assessment methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience developing and managing key privacy deliverables such as: Data inventory registers, Privacy impact assessments, Privacy training.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range between $50,000 to $120,000 based on experience and qualifications.
