About the position

The Associate Database Administrator role at Ingram Micro involves designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases and programming components of the Oracle Data warehouse. This position is crucial for optimizing database performance, ensuring data quality, and supporting integration between various systems. The role requires collaboration with GIO teams and involves managing production and development environments, as well as implementing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and programming components of the Oracle Data warehouse.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries to maximize performance.
  • Monitor transaction deadlocks and long-running queries.
  • Verify and ensure data quality for business users.
  • Maintain database security infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with GIO teams to support hardware, storage, and software upgrades.
  • Set up, scale, and manage production and development environments in Linux.
  • Support, develop, deploy, and maintain operational reports.
  • Architect, develop, deploy, and support data integration between Mainframe and Open Systems databases.
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing data integration points.
  • Design, develop, and support JDBC applications for data integration.
  • Engineer MQ and other technology solutions to enhance database and integration solutions.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins.
  • Implement logging and monitoring solutions to ensure system health and performance insights.
  • Manage code repositories and branching using tools like Git.
  • Stay current with industry trends and introduce new technologies where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experience with Oracle databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools.
  • Ability to manage code repositories using Git.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Mainframe systems.
  • Familiarity with MQ technology solutions.
