About the position

The Associate Dean and Director of the Student Success Center at Millikin University is a senior leadership role within Student Affairs, responsible for enhancing student success outcomes through data-informed, inclusive, and collaborative services. This position involves overseeing the Student Success Center, advising the Vice President for Student Affairs, and developing relationships with various campus stakeholders to improve student retention, graduation rates, and overall student experiences from enrollment to program completion.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of and communicate promising practices related to student success.
  • Develop a high-performing, diverse organizational culture and team through effective hiring and mentoring.
  • Lead and ensure the success of all Student Success Center areas, including career success and disability accommodation services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve outreach and support for unique student populations.
  • Serve as the University's ADA coordinator, ensuring compliance with the ADA and providing accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Assist with registration and advising experiences in collaboration with academic colleges and advisors.
  • Strengthen academic colleges' ability to meet students' needs to promote retention and success.
  • Collaborate with IT and the Registrar's Office to improve data collection and analysis for student success outcomes.
  • Brand Center materials and ensure consistent communication with the campus community.
  • Ensure completion of the First Destination Survey to assess post-baccalaureate placement.
  • Plan and implement Career and Internship Fairs.
  • Chair the Student Affairs Students of Concern Team to support students facing academic difficulties.
  • Provide support for Title IX and campus bias incidents as a member of the senior student conduct team.
  • Develop plans for continuity of operations during staff vacancies.
  • Participate in the emergency on-call program to assist students in crisis.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • At least five years of direct or transferable leadership experience.
  • Direct experience providing related services to individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Experience in a college or university setting.
  • Experience supervising staff at any professional level.
  • Experience with student service and retention technological tools such as Banner and Ellucian.
  • Direct experience with enforcing the ADA and providing accommodations for disabilities.
  • Experience managing federal TRIO educational outreach programs.
  • Experience applying wellness and trauma-informed practices in service delivery.
