About the position

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research at Rocky Vista University is responsible for overseeing the professional DVM curriculum and the College's Research Program. This role involves managing curriculum delivery, faculty support, student academic services, and research initiatives, while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. The position aims to enhance educational programs and research capabilities within the Montana College of Veterinary Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the professional DVM curriculum including delivery, support, and assessment.
• Manage the College's Research Program including facilities, funding, and collaborations.
• Develop the annual operational budget for instructional funds to achieve the College's goals.
• Ensure the curriculum is innovative and meets accreditation standards.
• Support faculty through onboarding, workshops, and development opportunities.
• Coordinate student academic support services to ensure student success in the DVM curriculum.
• Implement outcomes assessment processes to evaluate curriculum and student performance.
• Provide strategic direction for research activities and enhance research integrity.

Requirements

• DVM from an accredited institution.
• Seven to ten years of high-level veterinary leadership experience.
• Experience managing faculty affairs, curriculum design, and research oversight.
• Five to ten years of experience with AVMA COE accreditation processes.
• Three to five years of leadership experience in professional organizations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with state or national veterinary organizations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of core competencies and veterinary educational milestones.
