About the position

The Associate Dean for Research and Community Engagement at North Carolina A&T State University is responsible for fostering research and scholarly activities among faculty and students, leading the College of Education's research staff, and representing the College's interests with the University's Division of Research and Economic Development. This role involves developing strategies to enhance the visibility of the College's research programs and engaging with community and industry partners. The Associate Dean will provide vision and leadership to build the College's extramural funding base and expand its reputation for scholarly excellence, focusing on both practice-based and basic research.

Responsibilities

• Foster research and scholarly activities among faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
• Lead the activities of the College of Education research staff.
• Represent the College's interests with the University's Division of Research and Economic Development.
• Develop strategies to promote the visibility of the College's research programs regionally, nationally, and globally.
• Interact closely with community and industry partners.
• Provide vision and leadership around the College's research mission.
• Build the College's extramural funding base and expand its reputation for scholarly excellence.
• Catalyze and guide the planning and development of new and major research initiatives.

Requirements

• A terminal degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in research leadership and administration.
• Strong record of securing extramural funding.
• Experience in fostering collaborative research initiatives.
• Ability to engage effectively with community and industry partners.
