About the position

The Campus Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement at Connecticut State Community College is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive institutional advancement programs aimed at significantly increasing constituent involvement and fundraising outcomes. This role includes overseeing corporate and foundation relations, community and public relations, events management, grant development, alumni relations, and stewardship efforts. The Associate Dean serves as the primary liaison to the campus foundation, ensuring alignment between the college's strategic goals and the foundation's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Advance the mission, vision, and goals of the college in collaboration with the campus CEO and foundation board.
  • Enhance community awareness of the college as a viable source of investment and support.
  • Provide leadership and counsel to various constituent groups including the CEO and Foundation.
  • Establish strategic alliances and partnerships with businesses and social agencies.
  • Develop processes for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and recognizing support from individuals and organizations.
  • Lead community and public relations activities on campus.
  • Advise the foundation in securing major and planned gifts and enhancing annual gifts.
  • Contribute to campus and foundation strategic plans to strengthen financial resources.
  • Collaborate with the foundation to create and execute effective fundraising plans.
  • Motivate and guide the advancement team towards goal-oriented outcomes.
  • Support media relations and internal communications efforts.
  • Implement strategic messaging plans for advancement communication and marketing.
  • Develop a campus branding strategy in collaboration with marketing and public relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of experience as a senior-level advancement professional.
  • Proven track record in fundraising success and campaign planning/execution.
  • Experience working with institutionally related foundations and volunteer boards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
  • Experience in developing strategic and operational plans for multiple business units.
  • Knowledge of complex financial policies and successful implementation.
  • Ability to develop annual plans and budgets for multiple constituent units.
  • Experience in community representation and building strategic relationships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of advancement and foundation operations.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing workloads.
