About the position

The Associate Decarbonization/Sustainability Consultant role at Ramboll involves working within the Transformational Sustainability Service Line to provide expert consulting on sustainability and decarbonization strategies. The position focuses on delivering analyses related to carbon accounting, climate reporting, and advising clients on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methodologies. The consultant will work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to guide decision-making and ensure quality results for clients, while also mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sustainability and decarbonization analyses, focusing on carbon accounting and climate reporting.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership on carbon accounting and decarbonization.
  • Advise clients on various GHG accounting methodologies.
  • Ensure projects deliver quality results to clients and adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Design and develop technical analyses, including scope 3 assessments.
  • Critically review and interpret regulations related to sustainability and voluntary standards.
  • Assist clients in voluntary greenhouse gas and sustainability reporting activities.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of sustainability and decarbonization experience.
  • 1-3 years of consulting experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in GHG inventory calculations, methods, and standards.
  • Experience calculating scope 1-3 GHG emissions inventories per the GHG Protocol.
  • Strong spreadsheet and database skills.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Initiative, good judgement, and strong prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently to a deadline.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing stakeholder interests.
