About the position

The Associate Demand Planner at Total Wine & More will play a crucial role in enhancing demand planning processes using an advanced planning system. This position focuses on inventory management and forecasting to support sales growth, requiring collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate demand inputs and effective planning strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage the advanced planning system to enhance demand planning processes.
  • Support reconciliation of gaps and drive sales through effective inventory management and forecasting.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the Demand Planning module of the o9 system.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Store Sales Teams, Merchandising, and others to gather and input demand inputs such as events, promotions, and price changes.
  • Manage system-generated demand plans, including historical corrections and statistical forecast reviews.
  • Build demand plans based on market data and analyze 'what if' scenarios for new product introductions.
  • Develop demand plans that meet KPIs such as forecast accuracy and in-stock rates.
  • Analyze large datasets to develop projections and key forecasting metrics.
  • Lead root cause analysis for items not meeting demand plans and implement process improvements.
  • Support Integrated Business Planning processes and coordinate cross-functional consensus demand plans.
  • Work on projects related to new product launches, line extensions, and product discontinuations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Operations, Data Science/Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, and/or inventory planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis and insights.
  • High attention to detail and understanding of demand influencing factors in complex product categories.
  • Knowledge of forecasting processes in sales, finance, supply chain, or merchandising.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to perform complex functions.
  • Demonstrated capability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal partners.
  • Well organized and self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
